Service Kontakt24 was prepared for one of the biggest TV station in Poland – TVN. It emerged as an answer for viewers desire of cooperation with news service. Day by day viewers were sending hundreds of e-mails with reports about important events in Poland and all around the world. Therefore, the station decided to give them the possibility to transfer information efficiently . TVN employed our company to build up a portal that will promote social journalism.
Kontakt24 assembles people who would like to prove themselves as journalists or reporters. The users have possibility to sign up in website and then publish interesting articles, photos and videos. The more valuable article, the greater the chance that material will be used by stations. Portal also includes possibility of broadcasting videos and photos on TV and reprinting articles to various websites. Every material used, means a star for user: green star if the news had been published and a blue one if the material was presented on TV. The award system encourages users to build the website by themselves. The number of stars given shows the quality of published materials and helps the reporter in gaining prestige.
Logging into the system is also possible with the use of Facebook. Every person who has a profile on Facebook can add materials without the necessity of a registration in website. Publishing is also possible without registration- it is an option for those who wouldn’t like to link themselves with our portal. Kontakt24 is designed for people looking for information. Website’s user-friendly layout helps searching for demanded news. News have been sorted in categories (for example: Poland news, World news, weather forecast or sport), and have likewise been put in order of popularity, date and importance. Finding news is also simplified by a search engine, which proposes suggestions that match users’ questions. Furthermore, people visiting the website can use suggestions that are shown as tags. It is of great important that the portal is linked with the TVN website. Users, who wish to receive more information can easily jump to television news. One of the programs, which users have the ability to watch is MAGAZYN24 – it publishes parts of programs emitted by TVN station.
Kontakt24 was built on a modern content management system veoC2MS. As our portal is a big venture designed for a large group of recipients, our company has made every potential effort to make it as functional and ergonomic as possible.
